Plate 8. Looking north at the east channel waterfall in the late 1860s. The River Mill is at the far left with the Winslow House on the skyline above it. Along Main Street the principal buildings moving left to right are the Martin-Morrison Block, the Upton Block, and the Tremont House Hotel.
