Plate 2. Looking south at Hennepin Island and the West Side Mill District in 1857. The original East Side Platform Mills are in the lower right. The Government Mills are at the right center just over the top of the Mill Hands Boarding House. The Rogers, Stimpson, and Kent sawmill is under construction at the left center.
